Traditionally, this beloved beverage was created by shaving homemade chocolate disks called Metate (a blend of ground, toasted Cacao Beans, Cinnamon & Spice, Vanilla Bean, and a hint of Almond) and simmering with hot water until melted. This bold beverage was then hand whipped with a carved wooden beater, called a Molinillo until thick and frothy.
